You know you have a toddler when…

Over the past few months I have watched Leo change from a baby into a little boy right in front of my very eyes. It is amazing to watch him learn and grow, I can’t believe he’s 19months old already!

Like most children his age he is very mischievous, cheeky and some of the things he does just completely baffle me. I have compiled a list of 5 tell tale signs you are living with a toddler.

You know you have a toddler when…

1. Bathroom time is no longer private
I can’t remember the last time I was able to shower or go to the toilet without Leo running in and proceeding to either throw books at me, chuck all his toys in the bath or eat the shampoo bottle. Trying to get dry with a child hanging off your towel..we have all been there, right?

2. Washing machines are no longer for clothes
How silly of me to think if I leave the washing machine door open that all the clothes would still be in there when I return. Obviously their rightful home is on the floor so the shape sorter and building blocks can go in there. Silly, silly me…

3.  Food shopping becomes a military style operation
Pulling food off the shelves, refusing to sit in the trolley, tantums at the till…you all know what I’m on about. You need nerves of steel to brave the weekly shop alone.

4. You’re not allowed to watch TV
You have no idea what is happening in the world or whats going on in your favourite shows but you can discuss at length all the antics happening in the night garden. If the TV is on it has got to be CBeeBies, them’s the rules mummy.

5. Conversations just make no sense anymore
Leo: Food!
Mummy: Are you hungry Leo?
Leo: Woof woof

I could go on forever but Leo has just woke up. Let me know the weird and wonderful things your toddler does..it’s fun to laugh at the things they do. He may be hard work sometimes but I wouldn’t have my little monster any other way!

Oh yes, absolutely yes to all of the above. The washing machine made me laugh, we go through the same thing every morning. I don't know why I haven't learnt to not even bother putting the washing in anymore. P must think her mummy is a bit dim. I don't bother closing the bathroom door now, it is free for all. P is 19 months too and occasionally thinks she is a baby still and demands to be carried everywhere at home. Bless them. They are gorgeous aren't they?!

I am so glad to have raised my kids in a time when childrens programs were on telly for a few hoirs in the morning and a few hours in the afternoon. Beyond this they didnt have any option but to watch what mummy wanted to watch.
