Belly Bandit Preggo support tank top review

Belly Bandit Preggo support tank top review

When it comes to buying maternity clothes, I am all about finding pieces that look good but, most importantly, are comfortable. During this second pregnancy I have purchased a few key pieces of maternity wear and have also been buying regular clothes in a bigger size. I am now in the third trimester and any clothes that can offer my ever growing bump some support get a big thumbs up from me. When the team at Belly Bandit contacted me and asked if I would like to review something from their maternity range, I jumped at the chance. If you read my pregnancy updates you will know that I am feeling massive this time around and my bump is only getting bigger!

Preggo support tank from Belly Bandit – review.

Before their email appeared in my inbox I had never heard of Belly Bandit before but it turns out I must have been living under a rock as they are a really popular brand. Belly Bandit is a company run by women who care about helping mums to look great during pregnancy and once they have given birth. They are well known for their post partum belly wraps and other shapewear but Belly Bandit have a great maternity range too. The maternity pieces are all about offering mums maximum comfort during pregnancy, I chose the preggo support tank as I am more likely to wear it than a support belt.

My first impression of the preggo support tank was that it looks just like a black top, it was not until I investigated further that I realised all this top has to offer. The preggo tank has built in support and when I am wearing it it really does feel like I am sharing the heavy load of my baby bump with the top and all the strain isn’t on my back. I found it hard to get the top over my pregnant boobs as it is quite tight, once it is on though it is really comfortable and not restricting at all. I think I may have just been feeling a bit optimistic when I ordered a size 8!

The Preggo tank with it’s amazing Wonderweave fabric.

As well as the built in support, the other thing about the preggo tank that caught my attention was the Wonderweave fabric around the middle and up the sides. This material allows you to put stretch mark cream/oil on and get dressed immediately, no waiting around for it to dry. I don’t have time in the mornings to wonder around with my belly hanging out after I slather it in Bio Oil so most of it probably ends up on my clothes rather than deep in my skin. The Wonderweave fabric locks moisture in, keeping your oil/lotion on your skin and not absorbing into your clothes. I know some people aren’t concerned by stretch marks but I really don’t want any so this little feature definitely made me fall in love with Belly Bandit a little bit more.

The preggo tank is really comfy and the added support makes running around after this one a bit easier!

Although it is just a black tank, this top has become a key piece in my maternity wardrobe. As it is a close fit it can easily be layered under a more eye catching top or you can wear it under a jumper on cooler days. The stretchy material pings back into shape once the top is off so the preggo tank would also be great in those first few weeks after birth as an extra layer for breastfeeding mums, the two top method was my favourite way to discretely feed Leo so I will defnintely be doing it again this time around.

If you like the sound of the Preggo support tank you can buy it from the Belly Bandit website or their products can also be found in Mothercare. I would say at £59.95 that this top is a bit of a luxury item but it really does offer great support and you can always keep it for a second pregnancy or continue to wear it after baby is here. I love my preggo tank and it takes a lot of effort not to just put in on every single day.

Rocking my preggo support tank at 29 weeks

Have you got any Belly Bandit products, what’s your favourite? Would you wear the preggo tank top? Maybe you have an alternative product you use for belly support during pregnancy? I would love to hear your thoughts.

This sounds like a fab (although bit pricey) item and as you say if you get your wear out of it it is worth it! Wish it had been around a few years ago! #BloggerClubUK

This sounds like a great top for anyone who’s pregnant with the support it offers, and I love the idea of not having to let lotions etc soak in. I agree it’s a little pricey for what it is, but if it makes you feel better, it’s worth every penny!
