Kidloland children’s app – Review and giveaway

Kidloland children’s app – Review and giveaway

Being nearly 3, Leo is at an age now where his brain is like a little sponge. He is absorbing new information all the time and learning new skills pretty much every day. At the minute Leo enjoys reciting the alphabet and trying to count past 10 and, as his Mummy, I love to see him learning and I try to help and encourage him in any way I can. When Kidloland, a nursery rhyme educational app for preschoolers, got in touch I couldn’t wait to see how this app could help with Leo’s learning and development.

Kidloland app review.

Kidloland

Leo enjoying Incy Wincy Spider.

Kidloland is an amazing app, it has so much to offer! Not only are there over 90 nursery rhymes to listen to, the app also offers lots of opportunities for your child to learn something new. There are songs to help your little one learn their numbers, the alphabet, phonics, colours, animals and so much more. The best thing is, all these songs are interactive. Instead of just watching the screen, your little one can tap on the different characters and fun things happen. Leo loves the A B C songs and particularly enjoyed pressing the owl , ‘O is for owl’, and making him fly across the screen. I definitely think by being interactive, Leo is learning a lot more than if he was just listening to the songs.

The app features all of the classic nursery rhymes, Leo has been enjoying listening to Incy Wincy Spider a lot and loves making Incy run up the drain pipe. There are so many songs to listen to and, once downloaded, you don’t have to be online to listen to them – perfect for long car journeys when there is no wi fi available.

Kidloland

The alphabet songs – how cute is that panda?

As well as the fun songs that your child will love singing along to, Kidloland also has a wide range of activities for your toddler to have a go at. There are dot to dots to help with cognitive development, jigsaw puzzles, sorting games and more. Leo is getting to grips with the puzzles at the minute, you can tell by his face how much he is concentrating and he is always so pleased with himself when he gets it right. Not only is this app lots of fun but it can really help your child to learn their numbers, letters, colours, phonics and shapes. Kidloland is definitely a fantastic tool to help prepare your child for all the learning they will be doing when they start school.

What Leo loves about Kidloland.
* The interactive side to all the songs, he loves tapping away at the screen and seeing what happens next.
* The A B C songs, he has really enjoyed learning what each letter is for ( his favourite is P is for Panda).
* The animation, all the pictures are so bright and colourful and are really fun to watch. The cute characters, space rockets and vehicles all spark Leo’s interest and manage to keep him entertained for a long time.
* The games. He is still learning when it comes to some of the activities but he really enjoys the game side of the app already. So far Leo loves cracking eggs and watching birds appear, cleaning aeroplanes and letting me help him do the puzzles.

Kidloland

Rocket matching game. The pointy glove helps show little ones what to do.

What I love about Kidloland.
* Unlike the usual videos he watches on youtube, the nursery rhymes are interactive and keep Leo’s interest for a long time.
* There is so much to do. The songs, the games and learning activities, it will take you a very long time to see everything this app has to offer, there’s no chance of Leo getting bored of it anytime soon.
* It is educational! After only testing it out for the last week or so I can already tell Leo is learning so much from using Kidloland. He can tell me what different letters are for when asked and can easily recognise his colours and shapes. Although he still struggles with the puzzles, his fine motor skills and hand eye coordination are definitely improving.
* It keeps Leo busy. I don’t really like plonking Leo in front of the TV or Youtube but sometimes it is the only way I can get things done. I don’t feel guilty about sitting him with Kidloland on the tablet for 10 minutes as I know he is learning so much from it, not just staring at a screen like a zombie.
* Leo and I can enjoy it together. I don’t enjoy watching kids TV at all and the nursery rhymes on Youtube drive me crazy after a while, I really enjoy sitting with Leo and playing on Kidloland though. I love watching his little face light up when he makes something happen on the screen and I enjoy seeing him learn new things as he plays on the app. Even though I guess it counts as the evil screen time us parents are warned against, I have no problem spending a bit of time playing Kidloland with Leo everyday, the educational benefits are definitely worth it.

Kidloland is available for both Android and Apple devices and is paid for through a subscription service, where you can pay monthly or for the year. I would say it is definitely worth investing in, my boy adores it and I’m a big fan too.

Isn’t it amazing how well little ones adapt to technology? My 3 yr old actually had to show me how to close out the tabs on my phone- and she showed me that when she was 2!#KCACOLS

This is a really interesting post to read Wendy, as we also got to test KidloLand App but with my 11 month old. It’s interesting seeing how different the levels of engagement are, obviously Leo is much more controlled than my daughter who only wanted to hit the iPad causing the app to disappear! But like you we loved it, and I am so impressed with how much content KidloLand have to offer – there is always something new. Thanks so much for sharing a second post with us this week at #fortheloveofBLOG. Claire x

Oh wow, this looks like so much fun! I LOVE education apps, and I really believe they can come in so handy-even for me! I have forgotten so many of the fun, educational songs, and they help me remember. My son absolutely adores music and anything musical, so I think I’m going to have to give this app a look. Thanks so much for sharing! <3 #KCACOLS
