Beautful personalised gifts from Arty Apple – Taggie blanket review

When it comes to buying people gifts, I am a sucker for anything personalised. Nothing shows you have really put thought into buying a present than a gift that has been given a little personal touch. Arty Apple is an online store selling beautiful fabric personalised gifts for babies and young children. If you are looking for a special gift for a baby shower, new baby or Christmas present then it is definitely worth checking out their website. We were sent a gorgeous taggie blanket to celebrate Alex’s birth, beautifully handmade by Amy, mumpreneur and founder of Arty Apple.

Personalised taggie blanket review.

Pretty packaging

We received Alex’s taggie blanket really quickly and I was so impressed with the packaging. You can tell Amy puts so much love into all her creations and the packaging was so pretty I almost didn’t want to open it. If you were to buy something from Arty Apple as a gift I would say save your money on wrapping paper as the job has already been done for you.

Taggie blankets are something I had never heard of before but they are a brilliant idea. Basically, a taggie blanket is a small square of fabric with different pieces of material (tags) stitched on around the sides. The blanket offers young babies a brilliant sensory experience, the different colours and the easy to hold tags around the sides make it fun and easy for your little one to explore all the different textures. The taggie blankets are made from super soft fleece with a patterned piece of 100% cotton fabric on the back. Alex’s blanket has a nautical themed back but there are many other options to choose from including: jungle animals, monkies, campervans and more.

Alex loves his taggie

As Arty Apple is all about creating personalised gifts, all the taggie blankets come with your baby’s name and/or date of birth added to the fleece in beautiful embroidery. We got Alex’s name and birthday put on the blanket and it is clear to read and will make for a lovely keepsake.

Although Alex is too young to properly explore all the different textures as he still has pretty much no control of his limbs (!) he does enjoy snuggling with his taggie and I can easily see it becoming a comforter for him as he grows. I bet once teething starts most of the little tags around the sides will make their way into his little dribbly mouth too, he has already tried sucking on some of them!

Exploring the tags – well, trying to!

The only negative point I have to mention is that I think I would have liked the blanket to be a little bit bigger. The taggie’s measure at 25cm x 25cm with 5cm ribbons around the edge so it is quite small. It is the perfect size for an easy to carry around comforter and great for a baby’s little hands but I personally would have like it to be a tiny bit bigger.

A closer look at Alex’s taggie blanket

It is so cute seeing Alex cuddling with his taggie blanket and it is so well made, not a stitch out of place, that I am confident it will make it through teething, playtime and the boisterous toddler years in one piece!

If you like the sound of the personalised taggie blanket and have a baby you would love to buy one for then they are available to buy from Arty Apple from just £9. If the taggie isn’t for you, there are also beautiful personalised baby towels, blankets, bunting, bibs, hats and loads more available. Also, with Christmas just around the corner, Arty Apple have a santa’s grotto section full of festive personalised gifts including stockings and Christmas sacks.

Do you like personalised gifts? What do you think of the taggie blanket, would your baby enjoy exploring the different textures? I think any of the personalised products from Arty Apple would make a wonderful gift for a new baby. I would love to know your thoughts.

Disclaimer: Alex was sent a personalised taggie blanket from Arty Apple free of charge for the purpose of this honest review. As always, all opinions and words are my own.

This is so cute! I love anything personalised too. I love the pattern on the underside. My youngest used to like these when she was a baby.

My nephew had a taggie that he took EVERYWHERE with him! He loved the textures (and sucking the tags!). It’s lovely that you can get personalised ones from here! #ABloggingGoodTime

What a lovely taggie blanket! Our little one was given a taggie blanket too when he was born. I hadnt heard of them when we had our first three years ago, but there seem to be a few of them around now. I do think they make lovely little gifts for a new baby and this one looks lovely too – I love the different prints 🙂 Thanks for linking up with us last year, look forward to seeing you link up again with us this year.
