5 reasons why I want to start vlogging

Yes, you read that correctly.

Shy, quiet, little old me has decided to start vlogging. I am not setting my sights on Youtube domination or anything like that but I have been thinking about making vlogs for a little while now.

Up until recently I haven’t felt brave enough to put myself out there and get in front of the camera but I have decided I have got nothing to lose. The worst thing that can happen is people leave horrible comments and, well. I can easily just delete them.

For my first ever video I thought I would tell you all about my reasons behind my decision to start vlogging.

I hope you like my first ever vlog. It may only be one small step for my blog but it is an absolutely massive leap for me.

Enjoy!

Are you thinking about making vlogs too? Perhaps you are a seasoned pro, got any tips for me? I hope you enjoyed my video, it was nowhere near as terrifying as I thought it would be.

See you next time.

Well, good for you! If that was your first time vlogging then you should keep going – great effort. I liked the way you broke the speaking up with a bit of text and you didn't 'um' and 'ah' which is what a lot of people do. Good luck – I wish you all the best! x Abitofeverything

  20. February 23, 2016 / 11:54 am

I never thought I would Vlog, but I have done a few, my first ones were terrible, so boring I think. Like you I am super shy so I guess I was challenging myself too. I want to do more as well. You are totally gorgeous and I think it will be great if you do your little videos of family and things. Good luck! Oh and link them up with me if you do at reflectionsfromme.com, that way I won't miss any! Yay!

Firstly, well done for doing this! This is actually what I do in my in my career/day job – not vlogging (though it is something I would love to start this year as well) – but helping people with presenting and public speaking. I loved that you were really engaging. It was clear you relaxed into it and when you brought your leg down it really opened your body language and was more welcoming that way 🙂 Just a little tip as the more you can open yourself up, the more people will relate to you. Maybe also think about slowing down slightly and varying your tone. Funnily enough I found you at your best when you were retelling what had happened at your job interview. But overall really well done, I'll look forward to the next one and thank you for sharing this #KCACOLS

Congrats on taking the plunge! I've thought about doing it but I don't have enough interest in it to actually make it happen yet – plus all my main meetings at work are webcast and I hate the way I look in those, and then I have a room full of colleagues with me! Lol. #KCACOLS

You don't sound shy at all and you look lovely on camera. I've done a bit of filming this weekend for my first vlog. 65. March 3, 2016 / 12:50 am

Well done, it seems like a very successful first vlog and you didn't come across as shy. I haven't seen many vlogs yet and it didn't used to interest me much, but just recently I've started thinking it might be something I'd like to try, I'm not sure exactly why though! It would be a challenge, I'm generally quite shy and I'm no good at talking at all, but I'd like to find out if I can actually be any good in front of the camera, or whether I just make myself cringe! Technically, I'm not really sure how to go about making a vlog, and I only have an iPad at the moment, so that side of things is holding me back a bit. Maybe one day! #KCACOLS
