Making my home beautiful with Zoflora

Making my home beautiful with Zoflora

The first thing you need to know before reading this post is, I hate housework. Any type of hoovering, washing, cleaning activity I just can’t stand. I like to live in a clean house yes, I just really dislike the task of actually cleaning it. As I share my home with my husband, son and a cat it would be unfair of me to let it deteriorate into a disgusting pit. There are just so many other things I would rather spend my time doing than mopping the floor and cleaning the bathroom..again. Anyone else with me on this? Anyway, when Zoflora, a company selling concentrated disinfectant, contacted me to see if I would review some of their products, it was the kick up the backside I needed to get my home in order and have a very belated Spring clean. So I armed myself with cloths, mops and gloves and got to work on my home using Zoflora, here is how I got on.. View Post

Read me a story review

Read me a story review

When you spend all day every day with your child, it can be easy to take some of the wonderful every day moments for granted, can’t it? A giggling baby in his highchair at breakfast, a silly toddler playing hide and seek or sleepy cuddles with your little one while reading a book at bedtime, sometimes life gets in the way and we don’t cherish these moments as much as we should. As a stay at home mum I am so lucky I get the chance to experience these moments every single day, some parents/relatives don’t get have this option and would love to be a part of these daily routines. For family members who want to be there but can’t,  Read me a Story is a wonderful new website that is helping to bring families closer together for story time, no matter where they may be in the world.

Club Hub – The new app all parents need

Club Hub – The new app all parents need

In July, a brand new phone app is being released in the UK and, if you are a parent, you are definitely going to want this on your smart phone. Club Hub is an app that helps parents find groups and activities that are going on in their local area and, if you run a group, it is a great way to advertise your business too.

Ever since moving to Hampshire I have struggled to find groups for Leo and I to join. I go to a couple of parent and toddler groups and I even brave a weekly bouncy castle hour with Leo at our local leisure centre but I can’t help but think there must be more going on? View Post

GlassesShop review

GlassesShop review

Do you have bad eye sight? Are you like me and really struggle when it comes to buying new frames? I have been wearing glasses ever since I was a baby so glasses shopping has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was growing up glasses were not cool, you got picked on for being s ‘four eyes’. These days though there are so many beautiful frames to choose from, people with perfectly good vision are choosing to wear glasses just as a fashion accessory. Glasses shopping has changed a lot since I was little too, gone are the days of spending hours in an opticians hunting through frame after frame trying to find the perfect pair, now you can do it all from the comfort of your home on your laptop. I was recently contacted by GlassesShop to see if I would like to review their service and some frames, always on the hunt for gorgeous glasses, I obviously said yes.

Makeover your bed this winter – featuring Valentines gift ideas

Oh, I love my bed. My lovely, big cosy bed. The place where I go to snuggle up at the end of a long busy day and just drift away to dream land. My bed probably doesn’t love me though. The poor thing has been stuck wearing the same two or three quilt covers in rotation for the past four years or so. Quilt covers are not just for keeping you snug at bedtime, they can also make your room a bit more colourful, a bit more beautiful and make it even harder for you to resist climbing under the covers and having a snooze.

We have moved house a couple times but our bedroom always feels the same. As the focus point of any bedroom, it doesn’t matter how many pictures you hang up on the wall or how many times you paint, if you have the same old duvet cover sitting on your bed, your room is never going to feel fresh and new. With it being winter time and with Valentines day just around the corner, now is the perfect time to give your bed a makeover. It is time to chuck those old duvet covers in a cupboard, only to emerge when visitors come to stay, and treat yourself and your bed to something beautiful.

By making one change to your bed, you can give your bedroom a quick and easy makeover. If you are a parent I am sure you will agree, time spent in bed is precious so why not make it even more enjoyable by treating yourself to some new, cosy bedding? Here is a selection of quilt covers I love and I think would make a statement in any bedroom..
This Seattle Chocolate double duvet cover is beautiful. This set is from Yorkshire Linen and is currently available for half price at only £30. I love the colours and also the floral embroidery is a pretty extra touch.
You would definitely feel as though you were walking into a different room if you swapped your faded old duvet cover for this eye catching one. This Zambesi inspired duvet set is also from Yorkshire linen and is only £19.99. I usually have fairly plain duvet covers, I would love something with a bit more to it and I just love the little elephants, marching across the bed.

This teal retro floral bed set is from Next and is £35. This cover caught my eye straight away as living in a house where the walls can not be painted, finding ways to bring colour to a room can be really difficult. Teal just so happens to be  one of my favourite colours. I think the pops of yellow and blue, the flower pattern and the stripes around the edge make this cover really beautiful.
Don’t you just love a fair isle design? I know Christmas has been and gone but it is still winter. This flannelette duvet cover looks so comfy and would make your bed even more inviting on these cold February nights. This is another set from Yorkshire Linen and is only £24.99.
Not only a cold month, February is also the month that happens to be the home of Valentines Day. If you are struggling for gift ideas, why not treat your other half (and yourself and your bed!) to some lovely, romance inspired bedding? Here are 3 duvets sets that will make jumping into bed even more exciting this Valentines Day..
This patchwork Key to my Heart duvet set from Yorkshire Linen is so adorable and is bound to be happily received on Valentines Day. The double cover set is only £14.99.
Why not swap real roses this Valentines Day for a duvet cover covered in roses instead? This duvet set with a modern floral design is only £17.99 from Yorkshire Linen.
Catherine Lansfield Brushed Hearts Cotton Duvet Set
Valentines Day is all about love after all, so why not show that special someone how you feel and give them this heart covered duvet set? This double duvet cover is from Wayfair and is £32.49.
I don’t know about you, but I know I would be really happy if my husband gave me any of these for Valentines Day. I don’t need much encouragement to climb into bed in the evening but I know these lovely quilt covers would make it even more inviting.
Is your bed in need of a makeover? Are you like me and guilty of never treating your bed to a new duvet cover every once in a while? Would you be happy if you received bedding for Valentines Day? I would love to know what you think of my choices.
